1. Set the Mood

Before you get started, you need to set the holiday vibe in your home. A great place to start is with some delicious-smelling holiday candles with scents like evergreen, cinnamon, spiced orange, and cranberry. 2. Get in the Holiday Spirit

It’s easy to simply go through the motions during the holidays without taking the time to capture the moments. Years down the road, however, you’ll wish you did. Instead, opt for a few selfies that are more authentic and more entertaining. 

4. Take Time to Recharge

It can feel like you’re constantly running around during the holidays, whether you’re rushing to the store for that last present or stopping by the grocery store for more baking ingredients. It can be incredibly exhausting. So instead of staying up all night wrapping presents or baking cookies for everyone on your list, make sure to take time to recharge. After all, you’re supposed to be on vacation! 

5. Have Fun

If you feel like the holidays are just filled with work and stress to the point that they aren’t even enjoyable anymore, then you need to change your mindset. Instead of stressing about what you should be doing, it’s important to take the time to do things that you actually enjoy. For example, if you’re not a baking expert, go out to look at Christmas lights instead. 6. Unplug and Let Go

We all spend too much time on our phones these days and unfortunately the holiday season is no exception. While it can be tempting to constantly check social media to look at everyone’s fun holiday activities and family photos, you should try to unplug and let go. It might help to delete your social media apps until after the holidays are over. Or you may want to leave your phone at home when you’re out looking at lights or heading to a holiday party. Just do what you need to do to unplug, let go of comparisons, and be present in your own life. 

7. Wrap Presents

To some, wrapping presents can be a chore. But to others, it can be a fun and creative task. No matter which category you fall into, try to make the best of it. Buy some pretty wrapping paper and matching bows. Practice your newly-found calligraphy hobby on your gift tags. Go the extra mile with cute embellishments like candy canes, pine cones, or pine sprigs. Your wrapping efforts are bound to wow your family and friends before they even open their gifts!
